Skype For Mac Video Quality
Hi Office team, I'm an Office Home 365 subscriber and my Skype video quality is pretty crappy. All the time either my voice gets out of sync or the other line does, and video quality switches across the board for the entire call. On top of all this, I notice that my 2016 Macbook Pro heats up significantly for any call. When I dug into my last call's technical details, I noticed the the video codec, h264, was not hardware accelerated. Now all the times when my laptop would die after a 45 min call make sense. Software encoded/decoded h264 is obviously much less efficient than hardware accelerated. (For the most part, I'm making calls from modern hardware to modern hardware (even with a recent discrete GPU).
